The high fixed costs of cars create a financial disincentive to use other modes of transport. The fixed costs of electric cars are higher than fossil fuel cars, which increases this effect. Sharing access to a car on a pay-as-you-go basis overcomes this problem. 

 

This website is part of a move to put control and responsibility for developing transport in the hands of users. Simply by knowing what journeys they need to make, users are better placed than providers to manage the financial risks of a new service. Conventional car clubs, for example, are not financially viable in most places, partly because too many people own cars. Peer to Peer car clubs use existing cars,
